Before you start

  • Confirm the PC actually has Bluetooth hardware.
  • Charge the accessory, put it in pairing mode and keep it close to the PC.
1

Check Bluetooth and Airplane mode

Open Windows + A and make sure Airplane mode is off. Then go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices and make sure Bluetooth is on.

2

Try Advanced discovery

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices. Under Device settings, set Bluetooth devices discovery to Advanced if the device is not appearing.

3

Remove and pair again

In Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Devices, remove the problem device, put the accessory back into pairing mode, then choose Add device > Bluetooth and add it again.

4

Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter

Open the Get Help app and run the Bluetooth troubleshooter.

5

Update the Bluetooth adapter

Open Device Manager > Bluetooth. Right-click the Bluetooth adapter (often containing “radio” or the vendor name) > Update driver > Search automatically for drivers. Check the PC manufacturer too if Windows has no newer driver.

6

If the Bluetooth toggle has disappeared

In Device Manager, check whether the Bluetooth adapter is present or disabled. Install the latest vendor driver and restart. If the adapter is absent even after a hardware scan, investigate BIOS/hardware or contact the manufacturer.
